Bought children some popcorn at the movies…

I was standing in the concession line at the movie theatre, waiting to buy popcorn and an Icee for myself (yes I was watching the movie alone), when I realized there were 2 midschool-aged boys trying to figure out what they could buy with their money. Suddenly I decided to pay for their snacks, and gave the concession lady an extra $15 towards whatever they were going to buy. Then I scurried away so they wouldn’t feel compelled to say thank you! Made my day, at the very least…

Gave a ride to a stranger

Last night when leaving the grocery store, a man stopped me in the parking lot and said he needed a ride to a place that was 20 minutes out of my way because his car had broken down.

At first I was a little hesitant to say yes, but after I gave him directions on how to walk there, I decided I could get him there a lot faster and caught up with him before he left the grocery store parking lot.

He offered me money for the ride, but I declined.

Paying a uitility bill anonymously… great story!

Although I would also prefer to remain anonymous I’d like to share to inspire others.

Last month I accidentally got a bill meant for my next door neighbor.  It’s one of those printed on  a card so it was immediately apparent that he was behind by a couple of months on this utility.  In this hard economic times I know how hard everything is.  I emailed the utilities billing department and it was agreed that I could pay it for him, and remain anonymous.  All I asked is that if he asked who paid it the woman in charge of billing would tell him that when he was in able, to “pay it forward”.

The concept of paying it forward and random acts of kindness has had a slow start but let’s keep it going.

Thanks for the site, I’m going to let all my friends know about it!

IAmThatStrange

We have lived before
We will live again
We will be silk,
Stone, Mind, Star,
We will be scattered,
Gathered, Molded, Probed.
We will live,
And we will serve life.
We will shape God
And God will shape us.
Again,
Always again
For evermore.
